Honey Recipes for Fall

Jumpstart fall with Ontario Honey Creations fall honeys! Now that summer is nearly over, we’re ready for everything fall. These delicious recipes will have your house smelling amazing.


Hot Honey Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pumpkin seeds
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Ontario Honey Creations Hot Honey
  • Salt to taste
Directions:

 

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Remove pulp and stringy pumpkin flesh from seeds.
  • Spread seeds on baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Toss seeds with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt and hot honey.
  • Return to oven and roast until golden, about 15 minutes. Scrape from pan and stir seeds to prevent sticking.

 

Pumpkin Spice Honey Cookies


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1/3 cup Ontario Honey Creations fall honey
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  • Ontario Honey Creations Pumpkin Spice Creamed Honey

Directions:

  • Brown butter on medium heat, set aside to cool.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Mix brown sugar and honey into butter, adding in the egg yolk vanilla, pumpkin, baking soda, and spice mix until combined. Stir in flour.
  • Mix granulated sugar with cinnamon. Portion out dough and roll into balls, coat in sugar mixture.
  • Place dough on a baking sheet 3 inches apart. Bake for 12 minutes and allow to cool.
  • Drizzle on our Pumpkin Spice Creamed Honey.

 

Pumpkin Spice Honey Latte

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 3 tbsp Ontario Honey Creations fall honey
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup strong hot coffee
  • Whipped cream and our Pumpkin Spice Creamed Honey for topping

Directions:

  • Add milk, pumpkin puree, and OHC fall honey to a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until hot, but do not boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, and the coffee.
  • Divide the mixture between two mugs. Top with whipped cream and Pumpkin Spice Creamed Honey.

Honey Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup honey 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Mix the puree, honey, vanilla, salt, and spice together.
  • Mix in the cream, then gently beat in the eggs.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the pie shell.
  • Cover the edges of the crust with a pie shield (or foil) and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove the shield/foil, and bake for another 20-30 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve with a generous dollop of whipped cream
